Week 9 & 10: Be Careful What You Wish For
June 14th, 2005
I have to admit the past couple of weeks have been hectic, and that’s an understatement. But, since hindsight is 20/20, I realize that I brought it upon myself.
My mind travels a million miles a minute when I do not make the conscious effort to slow down and regroup — that is something I completely forgot to do all of last week. Since I focused so much of my attention on being busy and having so much to do, guess what? I ended up being busy with so much to do :).
But it’s not all bad, I did manage to accomplish more than I thought possible for my own personal goals and I even made some progress on my challenge - some significant progress on my challenge, and I haven’t even finished my inspired project yet (I am starting to think that project is for another purpose and not for this particular 12 week challenge — I’ll have to wait and see).
Following a gentle nudge while checking my web stats, I decided to experiment with my challenge websites and in the course of the process, I began taking notes on what I needed to change and why, what worked and what didn’t. After making the changes to my website, my revenue from those sites increased - a lot. Not only that, but while updating the websites, I created something else that I hope to reveal in the next week (I don’t plan to add it to the challenge sites).
Some of the amazing milestones that have occurred this past couple of weeks:
- I get to guest blog at two of Darren Rowse’s blogs while he’s away on vacation
- I launched another 12 week challenge website
- I developed a new and unexpected project
- Got the 6 week project started
- Learned the value of passive income
I’ve done a bit more, but most of all, I had an opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of my family. I don’t spend as much time as I’d like to acknowledging that I do have a wonderful family and support system which is something I’ve set out to change.
There is about 10 days left in my challenge, so I consider this the home stretch and I will most certainly be giving it “my all” and pushing hard. I’ll report back with my last financial stats and more details on what I did, when, and why.
