Week 3: Getting Motivated & Staying Motivated
April 16th, 2005
The past couple of weeks I’ve been preparing myself for this moment. I had been toying around with ideas, but I hadn’t found my focus. I wasn’t worried about it though, I knew that when the time was right and when I finished preparation, it would come to me.
Then boom! I got an idea yesterday while I was laying in the bed watching t.v. Just like that, inspiration hit me. I now know which project I will delegate a majority of my attention to for this challenge.
That brings me into week 3 and what it will be about (at least for me) — getting motivated, staying that way, and trusting myself.
Motivation and desire are the keys to unlocking the reality of your dreams. When you want something so much and so badly you can literally feel it, your chances of actually getting it increases exponentially. If you’re lukewarm about what you want, your results will be lukewarm.
To help me maintain my focus and my motivation:
- I dance - even if there’s no music
- I look at my forest each morning
- I look at my forest throughout the day
- I look at my forest before bed
- I keep my eyes on the prize
- I take it one day at a time
- I trust my gut
And yes, I have days when my energy level is super low - but those are the days when I need to pull myself up the most. On those days, I remind myself not to get upset or distraught because it will not help.
Instead, I’ll whip open my journal and I’ll write down all the reasons why I don’t feel great. Then, I’ll list all of my accomplishments and the reasons why I should feel great - I do it in this order intentionally. By the time I close my journal, I’m usually pumped up from writing down all my accomplishments.
Now, I shall leave you with a quote:
“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal.” ~Hannah More
Don’t take your eyes off the goal ![]()

April 19th, 2005 at 8:56 pmI’ve been working on my motivation and desires too, Teli. My aim is to just keep feeling good, and know that the law of attraction will work as always. I’ve been so busy lately, and everytime I get really busy, I always find myself forgetting to focus in on how I’m feeling.
All I can say is, it sure feels good to get back into feeling good.

You’re posts are so enlightening. I have always had a problem with focusing and I know it is because I try to do more than one thing at a time. Just too many projects.
So much is going on right now that I haven’t even found the time to focus on me.
