WP Affiliate Guide is Hustling and Bustling

WP Affiliate Guide Forum

That’s where I’ve been spending a majority of my time for about the last month — the WP Affiliate Guide website and forums and it’s been a lot of fun. So, I’m sorry for being so quiet here and not picking up where I left off with my 20/20 challenge.

Like I said on previous occasions, it’s not forgotten, although it seems that way; it’s just been placed on an indefinite hiatus. For the most part, I’m okay with it for now because 2008 started with a bang.

Here’s a quick time line just to give you an idea…

Just before the New Year, I spruced up the WP Affiliate Guide website, forum, and ordering system, then sent out a promotion to my OptiNiche, WPDFI, and DF2RSS customers which allowed them to gain access for a greatly reduced price. The response was wonderful, so I was certain that moving forward with the WPAG site was a good idea.

I then spent the next couple of weeks building up the forums, introducing myself, and getting to know everyone. In that time, I also finished putting up the initial video tutorials. Then, I took some time to find a few potential partners to help me get the word out about the WP Affiliate Guide. (That last sentence is the key, by the way — even for the 20/20 challenge.)

Then, I pulled the trigger and launched a Warrior Special Offer. My main reason for doing this was to see how viable the product would be in the wild open market. Picture my amazement when the answer was very viable. And I have to throw a special shout out and thanks to Belle, Chrissie, and Splork because they all sent a good chunk of traffic my way, too.

Now, I’ve moved into building out the forum — which will eventually become a paid membership (if you’re already a WPAG customer, no worries; this will only affect new customers) — and developing the bonus items I’ll be including with the course. When I’ve finished that, which should coincide nicely with the end of the Warrior Special Offer, I’ll be launching officially at the regular price.

There you go, and succinct view of launching a product. Well, my way of launching a product. Of course I’m sure I’ve made many mistakes along the way, but that’s what life is about — learning while enjoying the journey. What matters right now is that I’ve enjoyed the process so far.

By the way, the WP Affiliate Guide ebook was what I was working on when the Microsoft Open XML error reared its ugly head.
