“The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success” by Deepak Chopra
This book provides insight into what makes up much of success - not just in spiritual terms, but also in the real world. A must have for any SOHOer seeking to balance life, work, and everything else.
This book is fairly easy reading which can be completed in one or two sittings (only 112 pages long - not including the final pages which include the author’s bio and advertisements for other products). It is filled with some insightful information on how to create a more balanced life for yourself and how to open up and receive that which you ask for.
After reading this book through for the first time, I had alot of “aha” moments when things seemed to make a little more sense. I’ve put these laws to practical use in my daily life and surely enough I have experienced changes at a core level.
Chapter 1: The Law of Pure Potentiality
Knowing that anything can happen - anytime
Chapter 2: The Law of Giving
Why giving is not only good for the receiver, but for you as well
Chapter 3: The Law of Karma (or Cause and Effect)
Knowing that every thought you have and action you take has an effect
Chapter 4: The Law of Least Effort
Remember the saying “don’t try to teach a pig to sing, it frustrates you and annoys the pig” - let things happen naturally as they are supposed to
Chapter 5: The Law of Intention and Desire
If you’re luke warm about what you want, the universe will be luke warm about giving it to you
Chapter 6: The Law of Detachment
Remember, you will get what’s best for you no matter what so don’t fret it if what you ask for doesn’t come right away
Chapter 7: The Law of “Dharma” or Purpose in Life
Keep in mind that we all have that special purpose in life
Unlike many of our society’s laws which can be broken - there are a set of “higher” or universal laws which cannot be bent or broken to suit our situation or Egos and in this case, it’s simply best to go with the flow than fight it.
