20/20 Challenge: Day 3
October 8th, 2007

Armed with my notes and outlines, Day 3 of the challenge is complete for me. The updates have been dark for a few days because, like most other people, I had prior obligations that required my attention. But, that doesn’t mean that I’ve forsaken the project just yet.
(If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you may need to get caught up; take a moment to read Day Zero, Day 1, Day 2, and What Makes the 20/20 Challenge Special before continuing.)
Product Preparation
I’ve been asked a couple of times whether the product I’ll prepare will be internet marketing or blogging related. The answer is no. Internet marketing and blogging aren’t necessarily the easiest niches to break into.
However, revealing my selected niche is not an option. I will say that it’s a topic near and dear to my heart, one I know copiously, and am sure there is a market for it. In fact, I had already prepared a product for it, but left it collecting virtual dust since I didn’t have much time to market it. The 20k challenge is now my reason for reviving it.
Finding PLR Products
Although I already had a product created, I decided that it would only be a part of my final product for the 20/20 challenge. That meant I still needed to find some PLR products to download. Using the resource Michael recommended in the manual, I was able to find a couple products that looked promising. Net expense? $12.46, which certainly isn’t a bad outlay when all things are considered.
Michael, as an added bonus, does give you access to 10 PLR packages. Each of the products are in various niche areas, however, none of them were suitable for my niche — and I’m glad for it. The likelihood of other challenge participants flooding the various markets with these products has yet to be seen (and is probably unlikely), but I’d just as soon avoid it altogether.
I did, however, consider using one of the products from a review standpoint, but in all fairness, it’s my buck and time that’s on the line, so I’ve opted to inject my own creativity into the mix. Plus, I know that if I’m not passionate about the product or topic I’m working on, I’ll probably never finish — this is a challenge I intend to finish.
Oh, the Possibilities
I must admit that Day 3 has been an exciting day for me. It’s because, in deciding what I’d like to work on for my product, it rekindled my excitement for a product that I’d had a lot of fun creating in the first place.
Knowing that I’ll finally be able to spruce it up, expand on it, and build it into a wonderful and useful product definitely has my blood flowing. Plus, I already had the ideal domain name registered. (Don’t worry, I’ll still add the $8.88 as an expense as though I just purchased it.)
Final Thoughts
The first couple of days were fairly light in terms of work required — basically reading and learning — and they raised a lot of reservations. Today actually required more involvement of creativity. It was the beginning of actual work on the product.
It didn’t take me much time to decide what product would be perfect for the challenge, it actually took more time to plan it out according to the steps laid out in the manual. All in, today only required about 2 hours of my time.
| Today’s Expenses | $21.34 |
| Gross Expenses | $303.37 |
| Today’s Income | $0.00 |
| Gross Income | $0.00 |
| Today’s Time Investment | 2 hrs. |
