Forgiveness Is Good Medicine

“If you want to make peace, you don’t talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies.”
- Moshe Dayan
When you hold on to hate you are holding on to negative energy. This negative energy may be affecting your life in ways you may not be aware of, such as health issues, depression, financial difficulties, family problems, etc. If you are not feeling your best or you life isn’t going in the direction you woud like, maybe you should ask yourself who it is you need to forgive. By holding on to negative energy, you are keeping it in your personal space, and not only does this cause blockages within your life, it also creates imbalance with you and everything(one) in your environment. If someone upsets you, remember it is not the person, but the action which is causing you such discontent - knowing this will make it easier for you to let it go.
Set aside some time (about an hour or two) and make a list of all the people who you feel have wronged you in some way, then create a list of the people whom you have wronged. Write a letter of forgiveness to each person on your list and then write a letter of forgiveness to yourself for your transgressions against those you’ve listed (it would defeat the purpose altogether is you forgive everyone else and not yourself). Read each of the letters out loud as if the person was right there with you, then finish up by reading your own. You can also take it a step further by actually sending or reading the letters to the person it’s directed towards. Build bridges, you don’t know when you’ll need to get off your island.
