Week 2: Playing Games & Making Room
April 8th, 2005
I’m moving into the second week of my challenge. This past week I’ve spent my time setting my goals and preparing myself mentally for this challenge. I’ve also used this past week to finish up some prior obligations and be gentle with myself.
I didn’t mention this in the prior post, however, it’s very important. People don’t generally realize how stress can impact the body and the mind. If you’re stressed, you can’t focus clearly. If you can’t focus clearly, you can’t manifest your desires clearly — plain and simple.
Now that I’m in a better mindset and I’ve planted my tree, I can graduate to playing games and making room. I got a treat in my inbox a few days ago letting me know that another round of the Millionaire Money Game was starting this past Monday and I immediately signed up for it. Hearing Sandy Forster speak was the main motivation, however, the game is pretty fun too (it’s nice being able to spend money without needing to deplete your bank account).
A while back, I also touched on making room for what you want, and the general premise is: If you do not currently have the space in your life to hold what you are asking for, then nature has no way of giving you what you ask for. So in that vein, I will be making room this week.
I’ve looked over what areas I would like to create the room in and what areas of my life feel cluttered and stagnant. I admit it, I’m a clutter bug and a disorganized one at that.
Since I will be focusing on a financial goal, I will focus on the areas that deal with my finances. My second bedroom was originally intended as an office, but now it’s the storage room where old documents go to die. I will be cleaning out that bedroom and getting the documents properly organized. I will also rid myself of any unnecessary clutter.
Another area which keeps me feeling stagnant is my office environment. I have contracts and papers overflowing everywhere! So, I will be focusing on organization and setting up a system. I will also take a few moments to update my books as well.
My progress so far:
- Preparation/Goal setting
- Playing Games
- Making Room
